Introduction to AOP with PostSharp
What is Aspect Oriented-Programming? It's a technique for encapsulating code that typically permeates your codebase but is difficult to express with current OO syntax. We will review the basic concepts of AOP and some common scenarios that would benefit from AOP techniques. There are several frameworks that support AOP in .NET but the easiest to get started with is PostSharp. We'll take a look at the tool, what it's capabilities are and how we can use it to apply AOP principles within our codebase.
Presenter's Bio
Mike Hall (@just3ws on Twitter) is just finishing up his first decade of writing software for money this year. The Microsoft platform and especially .NET have been very good to him and he enjoys sharing what he's learned with fellow developers. Currently he is spending time investigating new techniques and tools to help with development on the .NET platform. For fun he is enjoying learning Python and hacking around with the Google App Engine platform. When not writing software he loves to spend time with his beautiful wife and daughter.
